The development of the software of pilatus driverless is in full swing and the transform into an autonomous race car is almost completed. At the Autonomous Racing Workshop in Hamburg and as part of a visit to the BMW Group in Munich we had the chance to present our new concepts to other Formula Student Driverless teams and industry professionals.
A steering actuator will soon take the role of the driver’s hands, the emergency braking system will ensure that the car can always be made to come to a safe stop, and the various sensors will gather the data for the car’s extensive perception and estimation systems. The many exciting concepts are currently taking their shape in the form of newly written code.
In February we attended the Autonomous Racing Workshop in Hamburg, hosted by e-gnition driverless, where we exchanged a lot of interesting ideas on technical solutions as well as the future of the competition with other Formula Student Driverless teams and officials. One month later we could exhibit our autonomous race car from last season, gotthard driverless, at the headquarter of the BMW Group in Munich and present the concept of the upcoming season to industry professionals.
